Bridal Shows

Weddings are an industry. That is key to remember when embarking on the bridal show tour. Do not give out your information unless you are ready to be spammed. And when I say spammed, I mean bombarded with crap sells pitches, junk mail, junk email and phone calls of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. And really are the odds in your favor of winning that great prize?? No.
A bridal show is not necessarily the place to form ideas, its the place to point out to friends and family what-not-to-do. Unless, you do want the stereotypical, white, foo-foo wedding and pay thousands of dollars in the process. The vendors are pushy and want you to sign on the dotted line. Its literally like shooting fish in a barrel and you're the fish!
Now, not everything in a bridal show is crap, there are the delicious sampling of cakes to be enjoyed. I would recommend having lunch before you go the show, this will help keep your will power strong against the display of sheets of cake.
What would be nice at these shows would be to have a giant recycling bin right outside the doors so you can at least not trash the environment after they have trashed your personal space.
The bridal show is an outdated empty to squeeze money and confuse the bride from what she really wants. Internet ads are the wave of the future. Just browsing on your facebook and what pops up? Why and ad for a local photographer. Or another weightloss for brides program. Take your pic, it will happen until you change your status from engaged to married.
